This book is a journey through the history of linen and fashion. Looking back through history, every major event can be read in the fashion preferences of the different eras.

Wars, economic crises or political power structures: every historical development is reflected in people's style of dress and choice of materials. Particularly striking are the many historical photographs and some previously unpublished photographic material, for example on the “Shroud of Turin”, as well as important objects such as the “Tabula Peutingeriana” and the “Liber Linteus Zagrabiensis”.
